  1. She will be a good teacher for the kids. She will be nice to the kids that she would like to help. She will love to be a teacher because she is deaf. She will be happy if they will let her be a teacher so the kids can learn.

  2. She should be able to teach kids in the class room because she might be the best techer. They should not hold her disability against her because she can read lips and hear somethings. It is not right that they would not have any one to work with her in her class room. She would like to help the kids out.

  3. I support Kelly 100%. I think she would be a great teacher. They shouldn't hold her disability against her. Kelly can read lips and hear one on one. Kelly also wants to teach deaf children. I think it will help the other students to learn sign language so if they get get a job and there are deaf people they will know what to do.

I agree she should teach students because she is able to pass the teaching course. She says she wants to teach students who are deaf just like her.

  5. I think this is a great story. No one should be held back from their dream with a disability this minor. The interpreter works and everyone can be happy so what would the problem be?
On the other hand I think that she should be working in a fourth or fifth grade class just so the kids will be old enough to understand, but innocent enough to not discriminate.

  6. When she has her degree will she teach at a school for the deaf or at a school where her students will not be hearing impaired? If she teaches at a standard school who is responsible for the hiring and paying of the required interpreter?

  7. Jozette, you bring up a great point. Do you think the fact that Kelly needs an interpreter will hinder her chances of getting a job as a teacher? Some schools may have limited budgets and may not be able to be able to her a teacher and an interpreter as well. I do agree though that Kelly should be allowed to finish her courses at CMU and become a licensed teacher. I had a professor who was deaf in college and I do not feel that it hindered her ability to teach at all.
